Important Dates – Summer 2011

  • Suit sizing is at Total Team Wares, Swim Atlanta, Sugarloaf:
    • Sunday, April 17, 2011 From 3-4 pm:
    • You must order your suit at the store prior to this date or at this date as this is final deadline for the season.
  • Registration is open from March 1, until April 1, 2011.
    Late fees apply for registration after April 1st by our team and ASA league.
  • Preseason Practices at SwimAtlanta, Sugarloaf:  Sunday, 4-5 on April 17, (skip April 24 due to Easter), May 1, (skip 8th for mother's day), 15, 22.  Entire team swims together at same time.  Remember it is $5 per swimmer in cash to coach Debbie for each of these practices due to location. We may practice at Stonebrier in May, weather and water temp permitting.
  • Regular Practice starts at Stonebrier on Friday, May 27 (first day of summer on Gwinnett Co schedule) and run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.  Practices are from 8:30-9:30 am (teens and year-round swimmers who can lap swim for entire hour), 9:30-10:30 am (ages 9 and up, working on technique/stroke/turns), 10:30-11:15 am (new swimmers and 8 and unders)-please note the most instructive practice time is 10:30 to 11:15.  Ask Coach Debbie if you don’t know what time your swimmer should practice. 
  • Thursdays Relay Practice is entire team relay practice 8:30-9:30 and marking for meet that night.
  • Saturday AM Practice is in same 3 groups but starts 1 hour earlier (7:30 to 8:30, 8:30-9:30, 9:30-10:15)
  • Thursday night meets run approximately 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm.  Swimmers must arrive by 4:30 pm for warm-ups and staging.
    Our meet dates are Thursday Nights May 27, June 3, 10, 17, 24
    Last dual meet Tuesday, June 28th. You can view our schedule on the NASA website at www.atlantaswimming.com.
  • Kids for Kids Charity Meet for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
    Saturday, June 11, Marist School, 9 am (optional meet), fees applies. We REALLY want to support this meet for 2011 as the proceeds go to AFLAC Cancer Center for pediatric patients with cancer in Atlanta!
  • GPRA State Championship Meet
    • Friday, July 22 for 10 & Under
    • Saturday, July 23 for 11 & Up
      Carrolton, Ga,
    • Must Qualify With Gwinnett County Parks And Rec
  • ASA Championship Meet at Georgia Tech
    • Thursday, June 30th From 2:30-6:30 PM
    • ASA Finals at GA TECH on Saturday, July 2 from 1-3:30 for 10 & Under and from 5-8 PM For 11 & Up Swimmers
  • Swim Team Season Ends:
    • Saturday, July 2
